A new year has begun and therefore there are new challenges because the hardest thing is keep proposing ideas related with these amazing girls who are always showing their incredible efforts to achieve a great sport career and at the same time showing to all the people their human side (family mother, student, wife, professional, etc). Through the years, FMU has done several contest coverages and some topics in which all high octane adrenaline is well received. This is a great time to make reflections about all things of this year and this sport is not the exception. 2011 was a 365 days' period in which Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini and the new class called Physique had an intense activity around the planet, with many emotions because the new generation of female athletes want to create an outstanding legacy full of glory and satisfactions for themselves. On the other hand, some competitors have said good bye to tournaments, but with a lifestyle that is already inside their hearts. With these factors in mind, all FMU team wants to invite you to enjoy these parties with responsibility and passion. High octane adrenaline also has the right to celebrate special times.

In Memoriam: Roseanne Desmarais (1975-2010)

Hi again Female Muscle Fans. One year has passed since her demise. Roseanne Blackburn-Desmarais, a powerful Canadian athlete died in a day like today, after she had suffered a car accident. She was one of the best muscular women of her country and is hard to believe that she is resting in peace. Talking about her is to remember a girl with an incredible passion for sports. Today a year away, is necessary to make a homeage to somebody who gave everything for her biggest dedication. Here is her semblance.

She was born in a small town in British Columbia, raising pigs and chickens, and she gave many signals of her athletic background with boxing practices, and when she was growing, she had been a tomboy, due to her lack of female clothes and her rude attitude. Later, in 1995 she had begun her journey as a boxer woman, with Wayne Henderson as her trainer. She had her first bodybuilding contest in 2002 and since then she get hooked with this sport. After she met Dave Palumbo in Olympia 2006, she had trained very hard to improve her physique form. Little by little, she won an impressive reputation as one of the best Canadian female athletes and she had a good level to compete in the best Canadian stages in order to get a Pro Card and enter to the most defying competitions. Unfortunately, all her dreams were broken when suddenly she died in a car crash, she was the driver of a 2008 Pontiac car. All her legacy will be remembered for all her fans, friends and family.

Hola de nuevo Fanáticos del Músculo Femenino. This is a Spanish greeting because Mexico will have a new edition of the biggest national championship inside Mexican Republic. The last Thursday at 3:45 a.m. there was a car crash accident at Highway 1 outside of Hope in British Columbia, Canada, and in the vehicle was a female bodybuilder. Her name was Roseanne Desmarais (also known as Roseanne Blackburn) and she was a girl with a lot of talent and potential in sports world because besides of bodybuilding, she was a boxer and she had a good future as a high performance competitor. And this last point is important because it has been proven that sports away the individuals from bad habits like drug abuse, smoking, alcohol and criminality.

Criminality and violence are a cancer in many countries and is a worrying trouble among all young people, no matter the nations, cultures and religions.

This is an article based in a sport discipline that has nothing to do with the issue of female muscle, however is necessary to know all scopes of a well-planned sports program and it is an investigation conducted by Alexia Krause, a journalist woman specialized in Mixed Martial Arts. So let's begin with this article.

Teens Involved in MMA Training Less Likely to get in Trouble

Teens growing up in troubled neighborhoods often find themselves drawn into seedy situations against their will. Whether it is peer pressure, or a feeling of despair for the future, many of today's youth fall prey to the allures of gangs, violence, and drugs. One of the most effective ways to circumvent this calamity is by making sure these kids stay active in after-school programs.

One of the best activities for children and teens to participate in are the fitness programs held in their schools or local gyms. There are neighborhood fitness centers like these all across the nation. Their success stories never cease to inspire. Whether it is boxing, basketball, or badminton, studies have shown that after-school activities dramatically lower incidence rates of violence and crime amongst teens.

Chicago, as an example, has been infamously battling youth violence over the past few years. There have even been appeals to President Obama to intervene for the safety of his home-town. Thankfully, these after-school programs are fighting youth violence, while at the same time improving students' grades in school; giving them the edge they need to succeed in life.

Programs like ones organized by Tony DiVittorio at the MMA Club at Clemente Achievement Academy High-School in Chicago are perfect examples of the preventative power of these clubs. DiVittorio saw the trouble that teens in his neighborhood were getting in to, and wanted to make a difference. He had tried contacting the schools about such a program 10 years ago, but school officials argued that it would only promote more violence. Fortunately- since those ten years have passed- teachers and parents have changed their stance after seeing the benefits of these programs first-hand.

Take a look at the case of a young man named Bryan Gomez. Bryan was constantly getting in trouble with teachers, failing his classes, and hanging out in the streets. His parents were pressuring him to find a positive direction in life. Bryan received the guidance he needed from a chance meeting with Tony during one of his Youth Guidance visits to the school.

"Mixed [martial arts] gave me a type of discipline that added to my life. Like, my family, my cousins and brothers... one of my brothers did real bad in life, ended up in jail. My other cousin is in gangs. The discipline MMA brought me made me look at my surroundings and people differently."DiVittorio not only helped Gomez with his training, but also helped him get a job. Bryan is now thinking of becoming a police officer someday, and hopes to inspire kids the way that DiVittorio inspired him and saved him from the streets.

Gyms and stories like this exist all over the nation. It is incredibly important to support programs like these. These organizations improve the lives of the children enrolled in it, while at the same time decreasing rates of crime and violence in their surrounding neighborhoods. Unfortunately, due to the recent recession, much of the funding to these programs via state and federal grants has been slashed. Often times these gyms depend on donations to purchase MMA gloves to help them prepare for matches. That is why it is so vital to recognize how crucial these programs are to our communities around the nation, and the world.

Hi again Female Muscle Fans. In this time, Meixco will celebrate a new edition of Mr Mexico Youth & Veterans. All new competitors, as well as veteran contestants will have the chance to show their best physique forms in order to reach the total glory. This is a good time for Mexican athletes to compete in a national tournament inside a generational mix and this is a good sport spectacle with many ingredients to please all admirers with a high octane adrenaline thirst and this weekend will be satisfied.

Note: She has competed in the NPC Jr Nationals 2009, winning the 1st place in Fitness (Class C) and Overall Fitness Champion.

Congratulations for all athletes in this competition and this is a hard proof about all sacrifices and strong work for these girls who wants to get the victory everytime that they enter to the contests. All their effort has been rewarded beyond 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, etc because for them, all hard work is worth to admire and respect.

IFBB Phoenix Pro Show 2010

Hi again Female Muscle Fans. This is the first IFBB competition in this year and it will be carry out at Phoenix, Arizona. So let's prepare this weekend because high octane adrenaline has come back with many surprises, and the best physique forms will be present on stage in order to reach the total glory. Female athletes will show one more time all their sports abilities after long hard training and strict diets months.
